Music Therapy
Music Therapy is a clinical and evidence-based practice that uses music to help children achieve specific developmental, emotional, cognitive, and physical goals. Guided by a licensed music therapist, sessions may include singing, playing instruments, movement to music, listening activities, and songwriting. Music Therapy is especially effective for children with autism, developmental delays, speech and language challenges, emotional or behavioral needs, and sensory integration difficulties.
Through music, children can build communication skills, improve motor coordination, express emotions, and develop social interaction in a fun, non-threatening way.
How We Can Help Your Child
At Florida Developmental Therapy Center, we use Music Therapy as a powerful and joyful tool to support your child’s growth in multiple areas. Here’s how:
- Individual Assessment:
- Goal-Focused Sessions:
- A Safe and Encouraging Environment:
- Team Collaboration:
A licensed music therapist will evaluate your child’s needs, strengths, and interests to create a personalized therapy plan.
Each session is designed to target specific developmental goals—such as improving attention, speech, social skills, or physical coordination—through structured and engaging musical activities.
Our therapy sessions are interactive, motivating, and adapted to your child’s comfort level. Whether they are tapping to a beat or singing their feelings, children learn through creative expression.
Our music therapy services are integrated into your child’s overall care plan and guided by medical protocols. We work closely with families and other therapists to ensure progress is supported across all areas.
